Church Choir

In my opinion, singing is one of the very best and most fun things in life. Singing lowers stress levels by relaxing tense muscles and decreasing cortisol levels. It improves circulation and gets more oxygen into the blood. Singing also increases feel-good hormones and improves cardiovascular fitness. It improves mood and has cognitive benefits. When singing as part of a choir, there are also social benefits such as feeling included, part of a community and a stronger sense of identity. Of course, you also gain skills, knowledge and understanding of music and other people. I can’t think of anything else that does all this! And, by the way, everyone can sing. As Buddy the Elf says, singing is just like talking except louder and longer and you move your voice up and down.

If I haven’t already persuaded you that singing is a joyful and beneficial thing, then perhaps the idea of making new friends and praising the Lord through song will do it? You don’t have to be able to read music, you don’t have to have sung in a choir before, you don’t have to be younger or older...just give it a go! We rehearse on Thursdays 6-7pm and sing at the 10.30am Sunday morning service. If you’re still not sure, contact me at the address below.

I hope you’ll be able to join us.
